According to SEGA, Nintendo's new console is going to be available in the first half of 2012; Nintendo themselves spoke of a 2012 release, but never specified a date. So, if anybody was dying to know, there you go.

My worry is that there has been no footage of 3rd-party games running on the Wii U at all. As I've written before, the E3 "Line-Up" trailer of 3rd-party games actually contained footage of the PS3 and 360 versions, due to the fact that development on the Wii U versions has not progressed very far. This concerns me because the launch line-up of any game system is vital to achieving sales at launch. The video mentioned that Darksiders II would be a Wii U launch title, so there's that, but will gamers be otherwise forced to buy only 1st-party titles when the Wii U hits shelves? We shall find out in the coming months.
