Team Fortress 2 Is Now Free FOREVER

So... remember how, an hour or so ago, Team Fortress 2 was in the middle of its "free week"?  Yeah, well... it's now free FOR GOOD.  Valve is transforming the online game into a free-to-play affair, and will earn money through the hideously annoying micro-transaction system that seems to be popular among all the good games these days.  For those of you who don't know, a micro-transaction system works this way: the game itself is free to play, but you can choose to pay money for items within the game (hats, anyone?).  With many games, the developers try and make you feel as though you're not getting the complete experience, and so you are lured into giving them money for virtual items.  Fortunately, this is not the case with Team Fortress 2, at least for me.  I feel no attraction to buying any items at all.  The game is so much fun I don't care about any virtual items.  People can pay for their silly hats; it won't matter when I utterly destroy them online.
