The Pricing of the NGP (a.k.a. PSP2) Leaked???

Check this out:
http://attackofthefanboy.com/news/preorders-begin-sony-psp2-ngp/

According to that, GameStop has the NGP listed as costing $300.  Sweet!  Honestly, it's a price I know a lot of us will be happy about.  It's still expensive, but considering the original PSP launched at $250, this is pretty good.  Yeah, it would be the same price as a new PS3, but hey, it's Sony.  Let's all just be happy it's not $600.

I'll be following this up as soon as I can find some concrete information.

UPDATE: Pricing confirmed (http://unchartedgaming.blogspot.com/2011/06/ngp-named-priced.html)

New Kirby Game Coming to the Wii

The title says it all.  The game dispenses with the aesthetic used in Kirby's Epic Yarn and goes back to a more traditional graphic style.

Watch the trailer on the official Nintendo website, or on YouTube:

The Next PSP Is Here!

The NGP (Next Generation Portable) was announced at Sony's presser the other night.

Yeah, I know I'm late to the party.  I'm tired.  Whatever.

I need some sleep, so read on with these links:

Could These Be the Last Two Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Characters?

As Marvel vs. Capcom 3 nears its release date on February 15, the final two characters have yet to be announced.

However, someone who has been leaking very accurate MvC3 information thus far has said that the last two are Hsien-Ko, from Capcom's Darkstalkers, and Sentinel, from Marvel's X-Men.

I believed that, and then I found this:

So now, I don't know what to believe.  Judge for yourselves.

UPDATE: These are, in fact, the final two playable characters in the game.

L.A. Noire Trailer Leaked - Along With Release Date

L.A. Noire is hitting stores on May 17, 2011.

The trailer in which this information was disclosed was supposed to hit tomorrow, but someone got a hold of it and spread it on the internet.  The video was on YouTube for a while, but Take 2 found it and had it taken down.

I'd like to get this game.  Anything associated with Rockstar immediately has my interest, and although they are only publishing this one (Team Bondi is developing), it still looks pretty damn good.  Noir hasn't been examined very much in video games, and hopefully L.A. Noire can open this genre up to us with a great gaming experience.

Duke Nukem Forever Has a Release Date

It's May 3rd, 2011 in the U.S.

The international version sees release on May 6, 2011.

To be honest, I'm pretty excited to see how this game will turn out.  I never finished Duke Nukem 3D, but now I have a mind to go back and do so.  Here's hoping Duke comes back in all his glory.

Gamestop Reveals Pricing for 3DS Games

Gamestop has revealed prices for twenty-six 3DS games.  Twenty-four of them run $40, but the two first games to be released, Dead or Alive Dimensions and Samurai Warriors Chronicles, will cost $50.  Interestingly, these two games, along with Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, are being released before the 3DS even comes out.

You can see the full release list over at Kotaku (http://kotaku.com/5740777/gamestop-listings-peg-3ds-titles-at-40-to-50-in-us).  As of now, only ten of those games are actually listed on the Gamestop website.  They'll be updating soon enough, I expect.

Favorite Series

First real post!

I'll be starting out with basic stuff, since I'm the only one here right now anyway.

Now, Naughty Dog's Uncharted series has garnered critical acclaim, with the majority of the video game populace in agreement.  There are many people, however, who do not understand the fame this series has generated, and believe it to be highly overrated.  I'll let you all stick to your own opinions, but in mine, the Uncharted games are among the best I have ever played in my life.

Critics cite the uninspired gameplay as the main source of detraction from the experience.  Personally, I find it fun and engaging, but I would agree with the opinion that it's nothing particularly original; it is, however, undoubtedly done well.  The Uncharted games have been compared to movies, and in essence this was Naughty Dog's intention: to put you in the center of the action.  It's as much of an interactive experience as it is a generic third-person shooter, and it's when all the elements come together that one truly begins to understand how wondrous Drake's world really.  Aside from the gameplay and interactive nature of the games, there are also two more aspects that must not be forgotten: story and characters.  I won't say much about the story, so as not to give anything away to those PS3 owners who have yet to play the games, but I personally loved them; I thought they were well thought-out and engaging, with twists and turns that are worth the price of admission.  What truly makes the experience worth it, though, are the characters.  Perhaps I just haven't read the correct reviews, but never have I heard a complaint about any of the characters in the Uncharted series.  Nathan Drake is the kind of guy you'd want to hang out with, for sure.  What makes him so great is that he's just a guy with a gun; aside from his inexplicably amazing climbing skills, there is nothing extraordinary about him at all.  It's refreshing to play as a man who can't shoot lasers out of his eyes or crush stones with his hands, and who can be easily described as reckless and irresponsible; yet, he is incredibly lovable, and there is never any doubt that he is good-natured.  Over the course of the game the player hears him lament over yet another wall he has to scale, or in general about the ridiculous situation he has managed to get himself into.  It doesn't hurt that the entire script is extremely well-written, and the voice acting is top notch.  At times, while playing the Uncharted games, I realized that they were worth my money just because of the character interactions.  It sounds silly, I know, but that's how great the entire cast of characters is.  I could ramble on about Elena, or Sully, or even Chloe, but I'm not going to because if anyone at all is reading this, I've wasted enough of your time already.

So there we have it.  The Uncharted series is my favorite video game series, and although it makes me sound just like every other fanboy out there, I stand by it.

Anybody who's dropping by, feel free to post your own favorite video game series in the comments!  I would love to gain some perspective on who plays what, and why.

Welcome!

Welcome, all three of you people who somehow made multiple errors in typing in the URL and ended up here.

Anyway, this is a blog concerning any and all things "Video Game".

The URL title, "Uncharted Blogging", is not meant to refer to Naughty Dog's Uncharted series (although I will be posting quite a bit about that as well, as I am a huge fan).  I chained the two words together in an effort to communicate what I shall attempt to do with my blog; I plan not only on posting news from around the video game world, but also my own opinions, and perhaps even the opinions of my commentators, assuming I get any.  I want to delve, at least a little bit, into the controversial side of video games, and explore some philosophies that I suppose most gaming sites would be afraid of.

Well then, here you are.  It's just you; the other two you came in with stopped reading mid-way through the first paragraph.  Well then, let us dive into this together.

It's gonna be one hell of a ride.
