This is the first in a series of posts with the motto "Whatever Happened To...?", followed by the name of a game that has been out of the limelight for some time (but is not "dead").
Tonight we examine WarDevil, a game many people may not have even heard of. It was first announced in December 2004 for release in 2005, and actually sparked rumors that a next Xbox was in development. Well, soon after that the Xbox 360 was officially announced, but 2005 came and went with no WarDevil. It was shown at E3 2006, and then followed by a two-year-long silence, until the latest trailer in 2008 was shown, which touted the title as a PS3 exclusive for release in the first half of 2009... of course, this was later changed; the game soon became multi-platform (and was re-named "Project Kane" somewhere along the way), and was supposed to be released in the second half of 2009. This, again, did not happen, and the game was officially canceled in October 2010. Next month, in November 2010, the game was officially un-canceled and slapped with a release window of Q4 2011.

WarDevil/Project Kane/Whateverthenextnamewillbe is so far off everybody's radar that IGN has it listed in their "Graveyard" section of games, which lists titles that the editors believe will never see the light of day. GameTrailers doesn't even have an entry for it; neither does Wikipedia. The trailers show possibility of an interesting action game, hopefully one that will soon see the light of day. Now that Duke Nukem Forever is actually being released, these people have no excuse. Give us WarDevil, or give us - uh... huh. Yeah, never mind.

An Unfortunate, But Likely Omission From E3
One of the games I'm most looking forward to is Thief 4, which was confirmed to be in development just over two years ago. I'm currently in the middle of the first game (Thief Gold, actually), and it's probably the best stealth game I've ever played. Every time I remember the game was released in 1998, I'm amazed. It's truly an extraordinary experience, and quite a challenging one at that. Any fan of stealth games needs to check it out.
Anyway, we've heard zip on Thief 4 after it was announced, and odds are it won't make it to E3... bummer.

Darksiders II Trades War For Death
It was already known that a sequel to Darksiders was in development and would see release sometime in 2012. What wasn't known was, well... everything else.
It has now been revealed that Darksiders II will star the Horseman Death, drawn below (back when the first game was released):
Joe Madureira, the artist behind the world of Darksiders, revealed drawings of all Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse back before the first game was released, even though the only Horseman to actually appear in the game was War. Anyway, the drawings can be found here:
Anyway, here is Death in all his glory, on the cover of the July edition of Game Informer:
Darksiders II is said to feature a larger world, better customization, and more epic-ness than its predecessor.

The Witcher 2 Now Headed To The XBOX 360
The acclaimed Polish RPG "The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings" is now officially headed to the 360; it is currently only available for the PC.

I actually bought the updated version of the first game, "The Witcher: Enhanced Edition" (a PC exclusive), a few weeks ago, only to find to my chagrin that my laptop wasn't able to handle it (damn integrated graphics). I played through the first hour, then decided to put the game off until I got a better computer. It looked really good, though.

The Uncharted Game for NGP Now Has a Title & New Gameplay Footage
And that title is "Uncharted: Golden Abyss". Sounds, well... AWESOME. As an avid fan of the series on the PS3, I must say getting an NGP just for this game is very tempting.
On a side note, the NGP is rumored to be named "Vita". Not a very cool name by any standards, so the rumors are probably true. We'll find out at E3, I suppose.
